I hope you can get the point: the important thing is just to force an update of the current CD ID, you can then keep doing everything else normally. What's probably happening for you is that the CDR plugin is not updating the CD ID, so the game can't know when you insert CD2, since it still thinks CD1 is in. There are some plugins that do this bug for me (the ISO plugin, I think). Like when you use "Start Playback": sometimes it shows the current CD-ROM ID, and sometimes it doesn't. I think it might depend on the CDR-plugin/CD-drive you're using.
